CALIFORNIA

California Section 23396.5 of the Business and Professions Code, Division 9 allows any "on-sale licensee" which maintains a bona fide eating place in conjunction with such license to allow a person who has purchased and partially consumed a bottle of wine to remove it from the premises upon departure. Section 23225 defines it in more detail by saying that the bottle must be kept in the trunk of a vehicle during transportation. It also discusses options if the vehicle does not have a trunk.
